Any experiences? What is the teaching like and the range of extra curricular activities? And how competitive for y7? TIA.

I think it's meant to be pretty good at the moment. (No direct experience - better on WGS and MGS - but thought I'd bump for you!).

They have a few scholarships for academic performance, music, dance and sport too I think.

Big numbers sit the entrance exam, but lots will have Withington as first choice, so don't let that put you off.

Thanks Polka. Why is Withington the 1st choice for many? Is it more academic? Better results.

Yes - see here - WGS is 17th, MHSG is 49th based on GCSE grades.

Withington is also a bit smaller - around 80 per year - and doesn't have as large a junior section (from year three only), so that might be a consideration too.
