Ok, I need some music for my littlies that I teach to do their SNOWFLAKE dance to. Something unusual, not "walking in the air" but I have boys dancing too so not very girly IFYWIM!! Quiet then dramatic would be great as they are getting good at twirling, coming to the middle and shapes on the floor. They're only three yrs as well, so I'm proud of them Will check in later for ideas. Thanks

hello jollymum,

Hall of the mountain king is a great piece of music. Starts as little beats then very dramatic.
It's by Peer Gynt. Hope this helps.

slight correction, hall of the mountain king is part of the peer gynt suite by Grieg. It is early for my brain to work !!

am thinking

but know naff all here

I would go for nutcracker or similar ballet-type music but my ds is an Angelina fan.

OK some ideas: the Waltz of the Snowflakes ffrom the Nutcracker (Tchaikovsky) but it is about 6 mins long so that might be too long?
the snow is dancing from Chidren's Corner by Debussy but that is a bit gentle perhaps but very beautiful...
or how about the Introduction and Royal March of the Lion from The Carnival of the Animals definitely dramatic

Dd1 was in a play where snowflakes danced and the music was just right. Don't know what it was though. I think it may have been German. Sorry, I'm not much help, am I?

Tchaikovsky's dance of the sugar plum fairy (from the nutcracker) sounds twinkly because of the celeste. NOt as dramatic as HC's Saint-Saens suggestion, which I think would be great to coreograph (sp?).

OK think music is sorted. NOW all I need is 7 quick/cheap/easy costumes, for me to make! Any ideas gratefully received. Have thought about combinations of doilies and white tinsel but any ideas needed

Net curtain? At least the top and bottom are non-frayable.

Hmm, I reckon you need a new thread for the costumes question. I bet someone on MN comes up with a good suggestion.
