ive got two boys and only normal power rangers/buzz lightyear costumes etc.

any ideas for nursery rhyme characters that i can use their normal clothes with and adapt a little?

i really dont want to go out and buy more costumes.

we've got buzz lightyear/batman/power rangers/cowboy/indian

any ideas would be great

Doctor Foster? Drs outfit - white coat if you have one, ot maybe white shirt, medical bag and umbrella?

Jack horner - normal clothes, pie 'prop' playdough plum on his thumb? Very hard for boys I think.

Little Boy Blue - all in blue with a toy sheep tied witha blue ribbon to a tall stick.

Wee Willie Winkie - a nightshirt (one of your dp's shirts) or pjs and dressing gown, slippers, a nightcap and a candle.

easiest ones are ones that only need a 'prop' and are otherwise in normal clothes
Little Jack Horner / Simple Simon (add pie)
Little Boy Blue (must have some blue clothes) Knave of Hearts (add crown with heart on and jam tarts)
All in black with extra legs made of stuffed tights as Incy Wincy Spider, or even Miss Muffet's spider
white shirt of dh's, stethoscope and bag for Dr Foster
Pin paper crescent moon to any clothes for Man in the Moon
Cuddly sheep for 'boy who lived down the lane'
Add silver foiled buckles to shoes for Bobby Shafto
Pumpkin (very seasonal) for Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater
Recorder etc for Peter Piper?

thanks for the ideas.the kids dont have any sheep so i'll have a look through for the other ideas.

its so cold here at the moment and i dont want to dress them so they'll be cold!

i'll have a root through.

could do the jack & jill one with brown paper & bucket.

would shirt & trousers be right for that? or normal top & trousers.

most of his clothes have characters on like batman or spiderman!!

wee willy winky runs thru the town, upstairs and downstairs in his nightgown...

little boy blue... (with a little horn/trumpet, God knows where you would get one from!)

He could be 'a butcher, a baker or candlestick maker...'

i dont know really, boys are harder...
