What year/age would a rounders colt team be?
Trying to work out when my DD may be playing matches and it is rather confusing as there is no descriptions anywhere for the different terms.

Any pointers gladly received.

At ds's school, colts are from yr 5 and 6

I'd never thought about it properly before but IME Colts will be up to and including yr6; yrs 7 and 8 being the senior teams.

Is it the same everywhere?

ZeroFunDame · 28/04/2015 21:22

Damn that came out wrong! I didn't mean "hadn't thought" because I mysteriously know through innate brilliance Grin. I just remember being told between one school year and the next but have been more conscious of moans about yr 7 holding up play through general lack of yr 8-ness ...

Yes, for us colts is yr6, senior teams are 7 and 8 and below that is u10, u9s etc

LIZS · 29/04/2015 10:21

Agree Colts is usually years 5/6 or split as u10 and u11 with First team /u13 from years 7/8.

For, boys' teams go U9, Colts (U10 & U11, aka Y5&6), then 1st/2nd/3rd etc, which is Y7 & Y8.

Confusingly, the girls' teams are U9, U10, U11 and then U13 - I have never seen the term "colts" used for the girls' teams.
