Cost of Exams

Just received an invoice for in excess of £600 for my DD's gcse exams (she is at a private school). Was a bit shocked, is it the same cost for everyone.

Yes, it's very expensive.

I know lots of homeschooling families who have very high exam entry costs, with the added expense of travel between exam centres.

At least your exams are all in one place Grin

At state schools parents don't usually have to pay exam entry fees (apart from resits).

Some private schools the fees include the exam fees. What is and isn't included in the school fees is usually set out clearly in the admissions literature.

As others have said, it is expensive - but that's what the Awarding Bodies (Exam Boards) charge. All these papers have to be set, marked and moderated.

And extra for resits, and extra for remarks.
