Best way to learn a language

Dd has expressed a wish to learn German. She does French at school & is doing very well by all accounts.

Can anyone recommend a good method for her? She spends a lot of time travelling each day to & from school so could use her laptop or iPad during these times though she doesn't have 3G on them.

Duolingo is great as a starting point.

It only saves a few lessons' worth of material for use offline, though. If she can connect briefly to wifi at school then she can update it to the next set of lessons for the way home. But it's not really available offline except in short bursts.

Unfortunately she doesn't have wifi at school (& isn't allowed to take electronics into school anyway, they have to be left in the car or at the office)

She has limited internet on her phone (if she doesn't use all her data watching Zoella on YouTube!)

You can do it on a phone too. It's free so might be worth a try. It's brought my German up to functional level, and I live in Germany and use what I have learned in real life.
