List TV programmes about schools

I'm fascinated by TV programmes filmed in real schools (not ones invented for the programme!) - doesn't really matter what kind of school or what age children, they're all interesting. I want something to watch and am wondering if I've missed any - also, maybe there are other people here who might have missed some of the ones I've seen. So here's a list of the ones I can think of:

  • Britain's Biggest Primary School, Channel 5, recent, state primary
  • Educating Essex, Channel 4, 2011, state comprehensive
  • Educating Yorkshire, Channel 4, 2013, state comprehensive
  • My Life: most famous school in the world, CBBC, 2014, independent senior
  • Britain's Youngest Boarders, BBC2, 2010, independent prep
  • Tough Young Teachers, BBC3, 2014, several state comprehensives
  • Secret Life of the Classroom, Channel4, 2006?, state primary
  • Harrow: a very British school, Sky1, 2013, independent senior

What have I missed? Or, what should they make, if it doesn't exist?

Thanks! Any more, anyone? I think there are some much older ones, but say from the last decade?

Educating the East End - the most recent of the series

motherstongue · 10/03/2015 21:36

There was the Harrow one about the Peter Beckwith Scholarship, Too poor for posh school.

BackforGood · 10/03/2015 23:25

There was the one where Gareth Malone tried to cure everything wrong with education by forming a choir

Rhod Gilbert did a 'Work Experience' programme as a teacher......

CBBC School for Stars

There was a series about people trying to get their kids to grammar schools. Not actually set in an individual school, but quite an eye-opener.
Also there have been several programmes about life as a chorister and the associated music school (I can't remember if they were series in themselves, or just episodes in the various programmes about cathedral life).
Sorry a bit lacking in details Grin

Will watch this thread with interest. MIL is a primary school teacher in Australia and enjoys watching documentaries on British schools when she visits.

Can I slip in one of my only claims to fame here? The suave headmaster of Harrow and his wife sat next to us in a coffee shop a few months ago. They were charming and spent lots of time admiring DD2 and her chubby arms. It took me a while to work out where I recognised them from.

There's a CBBC one about starting year 7 (airs in the autumn). Name eludes me for now, but definitely filmed in real schools.

AuntieStella · 11/03/2015 10:52

Sorry - it's Our School (which LIZS has already mentioned)

TempsPerdu · 11/03/2015 16:10

Think the grammar school/school choice one was called The Big School Lottery? Was on BBC2 in 2010.

BackforGood · 11/03/2015 16:11

There was one last year set in Birmingham, looking at the options that a variety of dc had when making their choices for secondary.

Public School (about Radley) is on YouTube.

BitchyHen · 11/03/2015 19:22

Have you seen Excluded:Kicked out of School? It's a series set in a pupil referral unit.

BunnyCake · 13/03/2015 20:17

I know it's already been mentioned, but cbbc Our School is fab. (Conyers School.) Wish we lived near enough for my children to go there.
