Independent schools in Central London

Can anyone recommend some good independent secondary schools in Central London please? Ideally within walking distance of Russell Square?

I would also be interested to know of any good state schools in that area.

Thank you!

What age pupils are you looking for places for? And which sex, or both?

Sorry, I realise year 6 is still primary, but I'm mainly interested in secondary. Thank you!

Portland Place take people in year 6 although it is a secondary school. Lots of arty parents rather than City types.
