The twins are due to start middle school (yr 3) next september and dd4 is due to start Reception at the same time. So 3 admission forms tto fill in. I was going to do it online but the website was down for 2 days. Finally got on it and the closing time was noon!!! The school has already sent the paper forms to Education dept at the council so I have to send in the paper forms now instead. Dh is fuming with me I should have tried to do it online earlier. Rang the council and they said even 1 day late means they wont look at our forms until after everyone elses and it will be next march

So now they may not get into the schools which are within a 2 minute walking distance of our house all because I was stupid and left it too late

call the council ed departmt. Insist on speaking to someone senior and if necessary threaten to contact yr local councillor and local papers if they still refuse to accepet their website was down.

I know blu but I cannot physically get to Guilford at all No one at all to watch 4 kids, 31 weeks pg and public transport is 2 trains and 2 buses. Taxi is in the region of £60 there and back, not a possibility at all.

Bike courier? I understand it will cost...
In the end, i hope it will all be ok because it won't be too oversubscribed. And lots of people who put it down might not then accept the place because another option has come up for them.

All our fingers wil be crossed for you, Magnolia.

If it is Surrey, then the deadline for primary admissions was Thursday, so I think that you have well and truely missed it.

If they are local schools then hopefully you'll get in from the waiting list fairly quickly. The school will probably know the number of 1st choice applications after half-term, so that will give you an indication of the size of the problem. Presumably there isn't too much risk with the junior school (typically one infants school transfers to the junior school), and the main issue will be reception?
