Prep Schools in Reigate Area

Hi, we are relocating back to Reigate from Hong Kong next summer and need to find prep schools for our 8 year old twin boys and 6 year old daughter. I've got them on the waiting list for Reigate St Marys, Hawthorns and Caterham.

I would love to hear any feedback regarding these schools. I'm getting slightly worried that we won't find places at all as everywhere seems to have such huge waiting lists so any other schools suggestions would be most welcome.

Wha senior schools would you consider ? Bear in mind Caterham and RSM focus on 11+ transfer usually to their own seniors but not exclusively , and H more traditionally on 13+ with a common entrance syllabus to a variety of day and boarding options. What about Micklefield , Priory Banstead or Aberdour as alternatives? H is due a new head in the Autumn so will undoubtedly undergo some changes.

Thanks LIZS, we are currently looking at 11+ to Whitgift or Tonbridge and for DD Woldingham. Thanks for the heads up on the other two schools, I will contact them.

I think any of them would be fine for Whitgift or Woldingham but for Tonbridge you do need one which prepares for 13+ entry and the Year6/7 pretests. If you aren't set on Reigate itself, Hazelwood in Oxted is another worth looking at.

I just came across this thread and wonder if you got places. Chinthurst in Tadworth is only 5 miles from the centre of Reigate. Its co-ed and there are spaces in some classes. Older children go on to the top local secondary schools and its very strong on pastoral care and sport.
