Epsom Pretest 2015

Did anyone's DC sit the Epsom College pretest this week? Sitting it tomorrow but heard from others that sat it yesterday that it was much harder than expected and that the interviews were brutal! Worried now!

Brutal? Only fair then as that just about sums up EC since the new head took over.

Could you elaborate Hicksteadder?.....DBs DS has offers from EC and Reeds and is struggling to choose between them (as they are relatively new to the area) so any information would be much appreciated....

They'll need to make their own mind up but the new(ish) head at Epsom's background is entirely in boys and mostly in boarding schools, very keen on his 'rugger'. Each to their own and if I had 'robust' sons I'd certainly consider it. Don't know Reeds at all.

Well DN is very into rugby so maybe that's not so bad.....I think DB was hoping the new head was going to make Epsom slightly more academic, as opposed to a finishing school for the rich folk in surrey.....

DS had offers from both. Head of his prep gently steered us away from Epsom as "a boy needs to be pretty robust to survive there".

If you have a boy who loves rugby Reeds are very successful probably more than Epsom. Plus much more caring ethos. Academics of both probably on a par.
