Girls joining shrewsbury school in 2015?

DD has offer for 6th form in 2015 so would be good to know if others are going whether they would also be full boarders from some distance away.
At current school almost none stay at weekend - so we do lots of miles on Fridays and Sunday but we are 3-4 hours drove from Shrewsbury so keen to know that it doesn't empty at weekends too?
Anyone know what house staff are like?
It looks great with lots to offer and academic stretch encouraged too so DD is keen but would be good to hear from others.

Juggling I can't answer your question about Shrewsbury but my impression is that for sixth former boarders having a quieter Sunday with less people around may be not be a bad thing. For younger pupils and during initial period of homesickness being kept busy is important. However sixth formers after a very busy week with lots of people around may actually appreciate a bit of space to draw breath and catch up on work. Even if the locals go home after the service there are likely to be a few students around with whom to go into town with or talk to. You could probably get an idea of how many events happen on a Sunday by the calendar

Juggling have you asked the housemistress how many girls stay in/go home each weekend?

I think Shrewsbury is supposed to be full boarding (we looked at it a few years ago for DS1 - we were expats at the time so full boarding, and everyone being around at the weekend, was really important). He ended up somewhere else, but rarely wants to come home at weekends as they are only allowed out from after games on Saturday until Sunday evening - they have lessons on Saturday morning so can't come home on Friday.

DS1 is in sixth form and as summerends says, there are fewer organized activities for the older years, but he uses the time to catch up on work, hang out with his friends and go to the gym.

We really like the school and its atmosphere and ethos.
Think I will ask one more question of the housemistress and be very specific this time - how many 6th form girls in for Sunday lunch this week and on average!
