Has anyone heard of Smart Brain programme? They use ancient tool "Japanese soroban" to teach children mental maths and improve memory/concentration. I know Japanese soroban has been used in Asia for centuries but it has just arrived into this country in the form of Smart Brain. It's a compulsory subject in Singapore primary schools to aid the right brain development. I was wondering if there are mumsnetters who are Japanese soroban trained-what their views are.
