Expected on monday, so bit of a shock to get the email today.

Mind you, there was such a jump last year, it's hard to tell what the results actually mean.

Sunny I feel for you! My DD had results last yr. the results came out early then & was huge shock. Then heard results came out early yr before too.
How did you get on?
What school did you like?

TheFirstOfHerName · 17/10/2014 20:45

I suspected it might be today because the consortium often sends emails out to parents on a Friday afternoon. Last year's cut-offs did seem quite anomalous. Thankfully we are only applying for sibling places this year.

It's really tough! Suppose at least we know scores now before applying for schools

TheFirstOfHerName · 17/10/2014 20:56

Yes, when DS1 applied we were not told the results, so there was no clue how he had done until March.

I've been watching the elevenplusforum, which is an interesting experience!

He did well (262) but we're still deciding on schools. Not impressed by watford boys, but like ricky.

Nightmare really, because they're competing against friends, and no one knows where the cut off will be.

Well done on your ds-my dd scored exactly the same last yr!!!

Takesalongtime · 17/10/2014 21:03

It's all so personal- I was on that website too! But school choice is very personal- people were really slating my dd school and she's been getting on really well & loves it

Takes - well done to your dd too. Just so relieved. I was trying not to join the stressy parents locally, but you can't help but worry.

They are all good schools. DS1 (Y10) and DS2 (Y8) have friends from primary school who have ended up at Rickmansworth, Queens, Joan of Arc, Watford Boys, Watford Girls, Westfield & Reach. All seem to be getting on fine.

Takesalongtime · 17/10/2014 21:08

Yes it's really hard. I was stressing but to myself and a few close friends with dds the same age. But lots were so secretive about tutoring, scores, schools etc. was like I would steal their place. With 262 you should get your first choice

Yes, a lot of people suddenly keep their cards very close to their chests.
