News & current affairs for children

Hi can anyone recommend any news and current affairs website (ideally something to watch) for children age 7+. I would like to familiarise my daughter (8) with some of the current affairs but I find BBC News too complex for her. Ideally it would be something she could watch by herself once or twice a week 45 min as with heaps of activities we are currently having I can hardly find any time to sit down with her and the newspaper and run through things with her. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks

Is Newsround still on CBBC?

Also there is a weekly newspaper for children - ?First News.

I'd recommend news round on cbbc. I'm sure you could probably find it on I player if not on at a suitable time.

First News for a paper, but Newsround is most popular with my two. They watch it on iplayer, usually, but sometimes on the website.

Yes, the Newsround website is very good.

First News here too for both DCs. DD also loves Newsround. I also subscribed to Focus for a sciency slant to things but they didn't find that as engaging. DD's now discovered the Daily Fail website...Confused
