Scholarship Days

Please can anyone tell me the format for a typical scholarship assessment day. DS is soon to be attending a day and i would like to be able to prepare him as best as possible.
We have an offer from another school too but funnily enough their final day for us accepting the offer just so happens to be on the same day as the scholarship. Maybe I am being cynical but does this happen or is it just a coincidence?

Completely depends on the school - is it for 11+ or 13+?

Dd had scholarship interviews last year - the one she enjoyed most (which was where she ended up going) she had separate interviews with head of maths and English and a general interview with the head teacher - and loads of chocolate biscuits . She came out beaming.

One of her friends had a scholarship interview at a v academic girls school and came out white-faced and shaking

Maybe I am being cynical but does this happen or is it just a coincidence?
