Hi all, I'm considering sending my daughter to Edinburgh Steiner school for their Upper School when she turns 14 in a couple of years. I've done lots of research and have weighed the debates from both the anti-Steiner and pro-Steiner people, the one thing that has really caught my eye is a couple of comments that about 5 years ago, 24 students were simultaneously withdrawn from the Edinburgh school. I've not been able to find out why or whether this is true or not. Can anyone on here clarify their actual reasons from having known them personally or even better if you were one of the 24 who were withdrawn (parent or pupil)? You are more than welcome to message me privately if you prefer rather than commenting on this thread publicly. Also if anyone on here has had a happy and satisfying time at the Edinburgh school, I'd love to hear your experiences, and on the other side of the coin, if anyone has had a bad experience at Edinburgh school then please do let me know. I'm only really looking for experiences at the Edinburgh school as that is the one I'm considering. Thanks so much everyone :)

I have no knowledge about it, but I suggest you also ask the school itself. It would be enlightening to compare their version of events with that of parents whose children left.

Yes, do ask the school. It will give you an idea of how they communicate, and how transparent they are.

That's very good advice, thanks! I'll do that when I go to one of their open days next year xx

Mystified as to what happened, and would like to know. Have friends with children at Steiner. (Not Edinburgh.)

Hope it works out ok for you!

I went to a Steiner school some time ago and not Edinburgh, granted. Strange times...

Steiner are very good at news management.

Read the Steiner threads on MN before you make a decision.
