Talking to LEAs

Have come across a brilliant IT solution that would help teachers work more sucessfully. It would give us the means to access the schools documentation from home/anywhere with internet access. Who would i speak to within the authority to get them to take this on board?

Write to the Director of the Education Department. S/he will then be able to pass it onto the the appropriate staff.

Within the LEA, each curriculum area has a member of staff who advises schools. There will be one for ICT (Information Communication Technology). Too tired to remember exact title of person, but if you look on the council's website and do a bit of a search around, you'll probably find it. Or if your kids are at school, ask the secretary if she could get the details for you....

yes the system is very secure, each user has own login and different users are allowed access to only certain documents. they acn be set up to view documents or to 'read and write'.

Hulababy - it's more for admin than teaching/learning. it would make mean not remembering to take every policy home when you need them as you could get secure remote access to them over the net.
there are so many times i've been frustrated as have forgotten to bring something home or not brought enough planning sheets home etc etc. it would be a god send.

to the teachers out there....are there any good teacher sites out there where you can post for advice, info etc. bit like mumsnet for teachers!

And probably loads more. I often forget to use them!
