Thinking of sending my daugther here for year 7 onwards. Does anyone have any experience, intel about this school?

A slightly different but bright child from my DS's old prep went there (quite a few years ago) I lost contact with the parents after a couple of years but I know they weren't at the time overly enamoured with it, they felt it wasn't living up to it's claims of treating a child as an individual or having very high standards of pastoral care. Nothing bad but nothing outstanding either.
But I should add that both parents were very successful, educated at very big name boarding schools themselves and had other DC's doing exceedingly well at very big name selective boarding schools so maybe had perhaps slightly unrealistic expectations if that makes sense?

Is very well regarded throughout west kent for its dyslexic provision

My DD has dyspraxia and so we are looking for a school with good pastoral care and experience of learning issues and Bethany seemed to fit the bill.

It would mean a move to Kent from SE London so I have to be absolutly sure (well as sure as one can be) it's the right descision for her.

My Daughter goes to Bethany. She has mild dyslexia. We have found the school excellent. A good portion of the children have various forms of dyslexia and other minor learning difficulties. Depending on the child, the child gets either, no, part-time or full time support for their learning difficulties. Outside activities...sport, music, drama. art are all encouraged. We have found it an excellent school with a good spread of abilities and a mixture of day and boarding pupils. the school is small and friendly with a good selection of "academic" and "vocational" GCSE and A levels. We have seen our daughter develop well...she still finds it hard work but has been taught many strategies to work round her difficulties. She is studying 9 GCSE...plus also does Lambda (drama), Singing, Duke of Edinburgh etc

The staff understand the pupils difficulties and are adept at getting the best out of the children.

Pupils can board at Bethany...so this could be a short term option. Obviously visit the school and talk to the staff about your daughters concerns and difficulties...next open day is 20th September.

Also...Cranbrook is full of people who have moved out of London......for the schools, so you will find many like minded parents.

I would recommend Bethany to any one...and frequently do.

Can anyone let me know if they have children at this school currently, and how they find it? My son does not have dyslexia but I do think the small and nurturing environment may well suit him. Just wondered if there was a good spread of ability and how the children are encouraged to join extra curricular activity. We would be relocating so I am keen to make best choice I can but would love to hear of anyone else's experiences, good or bad. Thank you
