Hi, I have found an old discussion on prep schools in the south Croydon area, but it is dated fives years ago, and we would like a more up to date advice on St Davids and Cumnor house schools.

We have looked at the schools in the area and Cumnor and St Davids is our top two choices.

Our son is a quite a shy child and was wondering which of the two is more suitable for him, and what pros and cons on these schools

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advanced

You might get more responses on the Local Talk page as there is lots of talk about local schools there: local.mumsnet.com/Talk/croydon/local-active

The girls I know who went to St David's are lovely and seemed very well grounded. Cumnor are more hot housey and I know one mum who is moving her rather lazy son from there because they are just not interested in him. However thst could be down to the boy rather than the school. I would visit both and get a vibe of how you feel. Don't go to Old Palace. What about Royal Russell?
