Really silly starting school question!

My DS was born 18th March 2012.....so does he start school August 2016? (Scottish schools)

Also my DD was born 23rd Nov 2013 so does that mean she goes to school the year after him?

I know it's a while off yet but trying to work out nursery stuff etc

He would start in August 2017 at 5 and a half because the cutoff date is the end of February.

DD could start in August 2018 at nearly-5 or you could wait till Aug 2019 at nearly-6, if you wanted, but I don't think that many parents of November-borns (especially girls) leave it the extra year, as they are ususally ready for school.

Thankyou for some reason I had it in my head it was a March cut-off for school. I feel better knowing he'll go in 2017, DD is the youngest of 4 so I'm in no doubt she'll be ready for school when the time comes.
