Can anyone help me with some gossip / thoughts / info? I have a two and a half year old. She'll need a day nursery three days a week (while I work, in centre of Brum) then primary and ultimately secondary education, with afterschool provision three days a week. My minds is open as between state and private - just want the best for her. I'd be grateful for any info at all however anecdotal!

My DC are much older than yours so I'm out of the loop on nuseries.
I would say St Andrews / Aston Fields or Finstall or St Johns / South would be fine. It's a long time until secondary but Waseley would have to change a lot in the meantime for me to recommend it. It's difficult to say about North: it's a bit transitional at the moment.
I'm not sure that the local independent school would add that much (unless you are desperate to get her hothoused) - I would save the money and use it for a mother's help / after school club.
