The friends mum requested me to do it - NOT ME!!

DDs friend stayed over last night and her mum said what will you do about the 11+ practice?
My DD was doing one of each paper a week but it turns out my friends DD is doing something every day and she wanted me to keep it up.

I was very tempted to tell her where to go as they are 10 years old and it is the summer hols FFS and they don't see each other very often.

The only reason they are doing it is coz its raining and they seemed quite keen!

How do I not compare the results though?

[ps my DD is doing best so far )

Why not gather up the papers when they've finished , saying something like"Horray, that's finished - go off and play, I'll look at these later" Then have a sneaky look to make sure your dd's done better (well, I would!) and then put them away and "forget" about them.

Oh god, how I hate the 11+. My dd's been doing a bit of practice every day over the summer, but it's been so hard to remember when there's so many better things to do. Never mind, it's only til January!

'May contain nuts' is a great read - maybe far-fetched in places but I think contains a lot of characteristics of most of Year 5/6 mums. I just love the thought of creating a spreadsheet give children scores on how well they do in different activities - my DS would get the top score for the PS3, card games and tennis! Unfortunately I am not small enough to disguise mmyself as an 11 year so that I can take his entrance tests
