My DS is currently in year 1 at a private school in west london. He has various educational needs although does not fall into the statement category. He loves going to school and has many friends. The school has stated that they can not give him the support he needs going into year 2 and have suggested that rather than move him that we fund a part time TA that can work with him. Does anyone have any such experience? Does the parent get a say in the recruitment process? How is the TA monitored? If we are paying the salary does it get complicated? Any advise GREATLY appreciated!
