I would start with spanish videos/dvd with ds. He can watch tv relaxed and not even know that he is learning.
Supplement this with your friend spending time just playing in Spanish Language.

That is good for the older kids but would be lost on little fella.
You could try Muzzy which is from the BBC,, try to get a second hand one though as they are very expensive.See herethere are more of these on ebay

The thing with Dora is that you only get the odd word but Muzzy is totally Spanish speaking, you get the story in English too. You alternate the stories and just let them watch.

I personally was disappointed in it and bored when I showed my ds at 15months but he seems to love it even now at 4.5.

Maybe start with songs or nursery rhymes that he is already familiar with - just to have some fun without any pressure of trying to translate anything directly iyswim.

I'd start with songs/rhymes too. My boys can sing in Dutch and Spanish. Learning that way seems much for fun for them. Dutch as they must to be able to talk to relatives and Spanish because of where we live in the US
