Yes is tne short answer.

Hobnobissupersweet · 05/03/2014 23:49

Yes, easily and more. Sadly it means the teacher did not really understand the mark scheme, or the definitions of each mark band boundary. Teacher almost certainly will have been hauled away by school for extra training.

So that was last year's GCSE exams? Have you taken it up with the school who should be able to tell you more accurately where it went wrong?

Ejj21 · 06/03/2014 16:47

The school basically said they were not sending all the off so not much you can do.

Sending all what off?

BoneyBackJefferson · 06/03/2014 19:27

there where major issues last year with several exam boards and moderators being told to mark the CA extremely harshly.

This may well be one of those areas.

Ejj21 · 06/03/2014 20:42

Sorry the school decided not to send all the controlled assessments to the exam board. So therefore there is nothing you can do.

The script in question was presumably not one which was moderated but others were and were found to have been incorrectly marked so all of the CAs were marked down accordingly? Sadly, it does sound as if the teacher was overly generous so there is nothing you can do about last year's grades but you might want to follow up with school to see what actions they have taken to prevent a recurrence. Is there some back story to why you are still pursuing this in March?

Yes as she was going to do Economics A level but was so disappointed on the day that she changed to another subject. Now looking at uni courses and Economics nay be an option so I just found out from the school what her mark was for guidance if the CA hadn't been marked down she would have got a B overall.
