Help with key stage 1 pupil progress question please!

Hi - really grateful to anyone out there in the know on this - whether primary teachers, governors or well-informed parents!

Would you say expected points progress of 4 points a year (4.4 to exceed expectations) in years 1 and 2, is average, ambitious or really not challenging enough?

I think only a few years ago, 3 points progress a year was considered average, but I don't think it is now?

Thanks so much - I'm a governor struggling to understand whether we're making the right challenges to the school...

Should be 6 points in Y1 and 6 points in Y2 (e.g. 2 whole levels across the keystage).

What ipad said. 2 full levels per KS, making 6 point in yr 1 and 6 in year 2, then 3 points for each year in KS2.
