Has your child ever had homework that has motivated or inspired you?

Do you ever want to do it yourself because it interests you?

Im fighting with DS weekly because his homework it so thought provoking and interesting, I want to do it or at least help him.

Yes! DS2 has the most brilliant English teacher who gets them to write Gothic horror and ghost stories, which I long to have a go at.

Also, in science they do all sorts of forensic stuff, like checking whether pen ink on a cheque has been tampered with. I get very jealous. We never did anything like that. My abiding memory of chemistry is melting ice over a Bunsen burner and then putting out the flames when a boy set fire to my friend's pigtails. But no forensic testing.

Its so different to when I was at school and also different to my other children s schools.
I have been amazed at the interesting topics that come home and really inventive ways for children to learn.

I am a TA in a secondary school and sometimes I get to have a go at the same tasks as the children I'm working with. Just done a great art project and have made some nice things in D&T, but drew the line at vaulting in PE!

The homework set at my child's school cant be copied from the internet, I'm sure they trawl the internet looking for topics not done at schools before.
