Has anyone had recent experience of this school?
Headmaster thinks may be a good option for ds (very creative, loves science as well, weaker maths, not too keen on sport but will have a go)
Bit confused by their admissions bit on their website, looking at 13+ entry, so I think that would be 3rd form. It then says under the further infornation on 'entry at 11, 12 and 13' that proposed entrants to the first and second form sit an entrance exam in the january of year of entry, but nothing about entry into 3rd form?
Anyone shed any light on that?

I would imagine it would be entry at 13+.

13+ is by Common Entrance exams taken in June for September entry. 11+ and 12+ exams will be done by the school's own exams. Are you familiar with the CE - is currenmt school doing the curriculum? If not there will be alternative arrangements

Yes, hes doing CE. Many thanks, the wording was a bit confusing

I know this school very well and the entrance process is a January of the year of entry test for Year 7, 8 and 9. I know this because the daughter of a friend of mine sat the test last Saturday (11th January). However, it's always worth giving them a call to see if they can still fit you in.
You are right 13+ is the same as Yr 9 , they call it 3rd Form. From my experience, this is a great school. The best way is really to visit and see for yourself - you know your child better than anyone.

Thanks. Ds is registered for year 9 in 2015, so I guess that means he has to sit an entrance exam in January 2015 as well as Common Entrance. I'll have to clarify that with them I think.

Inthename: Just picked up on this thread and would be useful to know what the main attraction was for you to King Edwards Witley, compared to others you looked at (if any)?

Hi guys,
A little bit late I'm sure. Kesw is just a smaller Christ's Hospital in my opinion. If you like the big schools the. CH will be for your child but Kesw is on a smaller scale.

Oops. Thanks brown. All opinions welcome, not due to sit the entrance test until January 2015.
