Hello, we have recently moved to Marlow.

Can anyone please recommend some good independent primary schools in our area?

Thank you

Do you mean schools that finish at 11 rather than 13?

There really isn't that much choice very close by. That I know of you have;

Rupert House (g) Herries (m) Davenies (b) High March (g) Gayhurst (m) Maltmans Green (g) St Pirans (m) Heathfield (g) Claire's Court (diamond) Godstowe (g) Kingscote+Caldicott (b)

It really depends how far you are prepared to travel and budget. The latter two are expensive options. However, I would probably go for the latter unless I wanted mixed in which case it would probably be Gayhurst.

There is also Crown House in High Wycombe.

Actually, looking at the map, if you were going to go as far a Gerrard's Cross you may as well look at Dolphin in Hurst and the Beacon in Amersham. Both are fab. Dolphin would be my pick of the mixed schools.

Highfield Prep, very good but girls only

The expensive ones are the best and are somewhat more designed to send children to senior schools at 13. They are not 11+ Bucks Grammar feeders in any large way. This is why they are more expensive - different parents and different outcomes. Godstowe is the best for girls and Marlow parents do go there. Some of the others mentioned eg in Amersham, are a long way to go in rush hour. Caldicott for boys.

Bear in mind though that Cadicott gives you a preprep dilemma and compulsory boarding in 7 & 8. Although I loved the school when I went to look those two factors put me off.

Thank you very much everyone. I'll be very busy in January!

Thanks again
