Suspension

My 14yo has been suspended from his new school for 3 days (til the end of term) for repeated "bullying" and "unkindness". He has been bullied badly in the past (resulting in him having seizures) but has never been considered a bad or mean child himself. He is also at the high-functioning end of the autistic spectrum. Be that as it may...

I'd be really grateful for any advice on how best to fill his time - especially as I will be removing his phone and all access to the internet/social media.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

It's brave of you to post this.

Don't take this the wrong way, but if it were my son, I would be spending the time talking through how with him to avoid such situations in the future and also letting him do reading etc. especially books that might help build empathy and deal with bullying like Wonder.

I am sure he wouldn't be suspended for 3 days unless it was pretty serious.

Ask him to reflect on why he's gone from being bullied to a child who would do this to others.
Get him to think about his feeling ( which will be hard as some asd children struggle with this ).
Remember as you said he's in a new school , he may be copying what happened to him , so that it doesn't happen again. Making sure he realises that this is wrong. What happened to him in the past and he needs to look and move forward .
It takes a strong person to admit that there wrong .
Maybe discuss with him writing a letter to people involved giving a apology for his behaviour .
Ask school for work he's missing so he can cover this whilst away from class.
