I've joined the PTA and they're scaring me!

The two in charge used to have powerful careers in the city and since giving it all up to be mummies they've obviously thrown all this effort and energy and organisational skills into the PTA, but jeeeez they are scary. Not sure if it's my thing to be honest .

I so know what you mean!!! I am on a PTA and the two women in charge put so much energy into it which is good most of the time but if there is a disagreement it gets scary and it will be about the silliest thing.

It is so obvious that there is some void in their life that is filled by the PTA work. I suspect it is the giving up of jobs that full-filled them.

It is a good thing, I agree, and they do need people like this to make it a success, but, like you say, they argue about the silliest thing, both determined to win. And I think they both have a bit of a crush on the headmaster .

I don't think there are any crushes at mine but politics are alive and well.

I admit I joined whilst on Mat leave for some stimulation but I found the passion employed when discussing the smallest things a little frustrating.

Trouble with being on the PTA is if you work hard at it you're scary, dont do enough and you're inefective!
