What's the best way to find a tutor for gcse maths?

I don't know anyone else who uses a tutor, so can't go by recommendation. What's the going rate?

I pay £30 an hour. There are agencies you can use. You could ask at your child's school (I got 10 free 1 to 1 by doing this once). Otherwise just ask any parents you know, and ask them to ask their friends.

i got our one from firsttutor.com, but you need to pay I think 15 pound for them to release the tutor's contact info. But before you pay, you can go through all the reviews left there and the tutor's profile. I pay 20 pounds per hour. I think the rate depends on areas though. You can have a look on that website to have a general idea on the rates around you without paying.
