We had our parents' night on Monday, but our wonderful teacher forgot dd2's report, so we only got it yesterday.

I don't know what it is, but apparently she does it (can do it???) quite well. I'm clueless. TIA.

Errrrm, aren't they circles in which things can be grouped?
Try googling it!

They are overlapping circles which illustrate the relationships between numbers. eg the common denominator would go into the middle, and be part of all the other circles.

So for example you could have a diagrom that describes what people were wearing as they walked down the road. One circle is the total number of people wearing a hat, one would be the total number of people wearing a coat , and the overlap shows the number wearing both a hat and a coat

Errrrm, thank you! Glad she knows what it's all about, anyway!

...and those who are not wearing either a hat or a coat go around the edge outside the circles
