School Applications

Hello, I was wondering if anyone with independent school application forms experience could help. I thought I was just about finished with my dd's school application but was faced with the dreaded "please include any further information about the candidate you wish to include." My daughter is only 3 - what kind of thing are they looking for? Or is it really only for the older applicants?

I suspect it is really for older ones - subject strengths, SEN, activities etc. Don't recall anything similar on ds or dd's application (but then she was 6 months !). If it is a religious based school and you attend a church regularly , perhaps add that, or if a parent/relative attended, if you have other children who may join later on (siblings usually take priority)etc.

I vaguely remember filling out loads of forms with varying daft sections. What is the application form being used for - is it a selective school, and if so what is the basis of selection? If it works on "first come, first served", then I wouldn't worry about it.

hi Ladymuck, my daughter is applying for a place at 4+ reception, and they say that places offered are based solely on assessment - willingness to learn, vocab etc. I went to school in America and know they would expect the whole cheesy spiel, but didn't know if in the UK they expect a more low-key response, if at all.
