The head phoned me at 4.35
"we have just had a meeting with the chap from county hall"
"that's nice"
"he's given us a lot of info about her self view"
"oh"
"he's coming into assembly tomorrow morning - would you lie to come and meet him, he'd lie to see you"
"well I'd lie to come - but I'll be at work"
"it is important"
" know - I'd really like to come...but I have committments"

Is it unreasonable to need more than 15 hrs notice to see someone about my DD?

I cannot take time off I'm a childminder fgs - I tell the mums "well actually you can't go to work tomorrow as I need to see the teacher & can't have your child.......what do you mean you need more notice?"

Grr

Grrr indeed. Is this the school she's been at for a while?

Katymac · 12/06/2006 20:51

Oh yes he also mentioned that DD is telling people she is going to the new school in September

Well yes I said she wants to go

So are you moving her

Well I think so

Well you can change your mind - even on the first day of next term

Thank you I said (thinking Why am I saying Thank you)

What did he say?

Katymac · 13/06/2006 22:05

He was very careful not to critisise the school - but what he didn't say said loads

He is going to get DD a "big sister" in a sort of mutual/reciprical helping/consuling type arrangement. The older child is also mixed race and has sorted out most of her issues and hopefully in helping dd will help her as well.

He also thinks moving her is a good idea - he will continue to work with the school whether dd is there or not

AND he said to the head "well a staff training session and half an hour assembly isn't going to sort the situation" which I was so huffed at (as I felt it was a problem tha t the whole school needed to address iyswim)
