What will you do with school work books they're bringing home?

There are enough of them. There's the odd good bit of writing in them but realistically......

I have no space in my house for sentimentality. Id quite like to put them all in the recycle bin. Is that horrible of me?

Perhaps you could ask each child to pick out a couple to keep?

DDs are in boxes in the garage.

If you don't have the space, but would like your DC to have a record of some of their work, you could either scan some of it on to a disk (and throw away the originals with a clear conscience) or take photos of it.

Bin them. Sorry, but after numerous kids and many years of school we have never ever ever once looked at early school work so now it gets binned.

I usually keep the literacy book for the 'what I did on my holidays' stuff that might be fun to read in 20 years time, a few little bits of artwork, and bin the rest.

I have always asked my DC what they want to do with them, and in the bin they go

I keep a few good bits with the intention of putting them in a scrap bookamnd recycle the rest, or they keep them in their rooms for a bit until they end up in the recycling...

I kept primary 1 stuff but now she's finished p3 it's all been chucked - there just isn't room!

I keep one each year of each dc. - still have my Y6 poetry book and a Y4 history one full of comments about spellings and messy drawings and reprimands for using felt tips instead of crayons

Workbooks in bin :) Free writing/story telling copies I keep.

I hand the dc in question my phone & ask them to photograph the good bits. Keeps them busy for an hour or so on a rainy holiday afternoon too - win win!

Mum has 8 massive boxes in her loft (1 per child) with all our school workbooks in, so I am just sticking my kids books in her loft too.

My kids and much younger siblings quite enjoyed looking through some of our primary school work and comparing it to their work and my teenage sister keeps pinching my books for GCSE revision because I used to spend ages writing up pretty colour coded notes.

Pick out a couple of good bits, put them in the large art portfolios I keep in each child's bedroom for their favourite/best drawings/certificates/letters etc.

I keep the one with the most personal writing in and bin the rest.

Keep the better ones, no matter what your DCs may say now. When they are much older they will want to look back at what they did when they were young. We were not allowed to take ours home, but I would love to see what I was writing when I was at school. I'm 66 now!

If you don't keep the books, keep any special projects they may do... Romans etc.

I have taken a couple of good pages from a few books for each of our 3 dc. They have a memory box each so they go in here with school reports, baby things etc. Then they get to store them at 18 and take them when they leave.
