Head band with straws and beads glued on.

Blatherskite · 14/07/2013 16:50

Pigtails with black straws poked in? If you could get bendy black straws, they'd look quite effective.

Headband with coloured pipe cleaners works well.

Also green works very well as a general bug. If you can get a cheapo tutu type skirt that would look great.

Black t-shirt and leggings for her. Then fill 2 pairs of old opaque black tights with squished up newspaper and pin/sew to each side of her t-shirt. Hey presto! A spider. (if you are feeling clever, you can attach the legs with string to her arms so they jiggle when she waves.) Any good?

Blatherskite · 14/07/2013 17:14

Do you have any black tights? Stuff 2 pairs with newspaper and tack them to a black long sleeved top, add black leggings and voila, you have a spider. You could tie thread between the real arms and the 2 tights sets to make them move when her arms move.

You could do the multiple eyes with facepaint.

Good x-post there sounded :)

How about a matching colour top and leggings and a cheap pair of wings to make a butterfly?

DeWe · 14/07/2013 17:18

Claires Accessories sometimes have headbands and other stuff for ladybirds and bees.

That was freaky Blatherskite! It is a really good idea though and has done me proud.

Bug headbands

thanks everyone, Blatherskite.. what a simple idea.. can easily make that head band, and dd has just come in and seen what I was doing and is excited... thanks all, feel reassured now. its so simple when you see others who have ideas. think I was trying to overcomplicate it!!!
