Sister needs help with musical instruments for 10yr old's homework

And it needs to be done by tomorrow! Any ideas? It has to be an instrument from three different cultures, specifying how and when it's used for that culture, ie. weddings, funerals, dances etc. Sister's going back to London tomorrow, so any ideas greatfully appreciated. Thanks!

Tube Kazoo

materials: toilet tissue or paper towel tube, wax paper or tin foil, rubber band ...........................................

1. Cut a circle larger than the end of the tube from the wax paper or foil.
2. Put this circle over th end of the tube smoothing it out. Hold it in place with the rubber band. It must be smooth and tight.
3. With a pencil or pen twist a hole into the tube just below the rubber band.
4. To play, hold the open end of the tube to your mouth and hum or sing into it. You might have to pucker your lips a little.

I found this but I would be surprised if you could get an actual TUNE out of it

paper towel roll
waxed paper
rubber band
pen

Cover one end of the paper towel roll with waxed paper, secure it with a rubber band. Punch a row of holes along one side of the roll with the tip of a pen.

To play, sing a tune into the open end of the horn.

we (or rather he!) made the kazoo and it works really well, thanks. I think that should be ok it makes quite a good sound.

we have been thinking about this all afternoon driving us nuts!
