has anyone been through the appeal system for senior school?

I've had the form now for three days and although it's mostly completed, the letter with extra information to state our case is so hard. I keep writing it, re-writing it, binning it and re-writing it again

yes
we won our appeal
they wanted to send DS to a school 10miles away as there is only one high school in our town
we appealed, and as we were new and moving into the area I stressed how important it would be for DS to be living near his new school friends
I also pointed out that he would be excluded from after school activities because of the extra travelling he would have to do and attending parents evenings would be difficult for me as I don't drive
I also pointed out that having to get 3 buses and wait for connections in an unfamiliar city would have put him at risk and would ahev made him vulnerable
We also got a letter of support from our local MP

I think most of my questions are being answered on that website Eddie recommended but I might well come back here for some hand holding. It sounds like it could be quite an unpleasant experience
