Should I get DD extra tuition?

Hi, my DD 6/7 year 2 moved to a new school in Sept when we moved. It's taken her a while to settle in, but she's now very happy made good friend etc. However the standard of this school is much higher than the previous one and her class has some particularly bright children in it. So when she started she was put in the lower ability groups whereas she was in higher ones at previous school. As time has gone by she is catching up and I'm proud of her, but her handwriting and spelling are awful. She says she hates literacy, but also says that because she is slow with her writing she can't write her ideas down fast enough adn finds it frustrating. I'm worried that at such a young age she's already labelling herself. I was thinking about getting her a tutor to help with her writing and spelling in the hopes that her confidence would be boosted. She resists if I try to do anything with her at home and DH works long hours so not around much during the week. What do you think?

Would she write shopping list etc for you "because it would really do Mummy a favour while I stick the washing on" or something?
Would she write a letter to someone?(get someone to write to her first maybe)
Decorate and write nice menus and place cards for a special meal?
A lovely notebook and special pens as a gift for doing something else well.Don't suggest what she writes in it,just let her keep them til the mood takes her?

Sugarfree - have tried most of your suggestions and others similar, which she does enjoy doing, but she won't bother to join up. If I gently suggest she does write joined up she gets upset I think she see's shopping lists or menu's as more of an art project then writing iyswim. Have also bought a story pad from ELC with space for a drawing and lines underneath - she loved the idea, but once she started the writing gave up. I don't want to push too hard and put her off.
