Can anyone recommend a dance/performance class for children that works toward a show at the end of the term? Some of them have shows and some don't. Would appreciate if you could share your experiences.

A friends DD goes to Stagecoach in Twickenham and absolutely loves it.

Over the years my DDs have had lessons at these classes. All have been good. Slight differences in their attitude to how "professional/serious" they expect students to be and the level of teaching/classes that they offer- but all enjoyable and fun.

You let them try music essays writing for a change. It may help them improve thier writing but with the help of music too.

My DD went to stagecoach in Kew (Richmond) at Broomfield House. Absolutely loved it. Show every term except Spring. Really high standard. 1 hour of drama, 1 hour of dance, 1 hour of music. Can't recommend it highly enough. stagecoach My DCs have been to lots of different places over the years in the area and this is definitely the best in my experience.

DD went to Twickenham Stagecoach for years. It was excellent for the first few years, great productions of Grease etc., she performed in the West End, a lot of her peers went off to Brit School. . Between a new franchisee and Stagecoach HQ imposing end of year productions written by themselves, trying to be down and edgy with the kids but failing miserably, the pupils hated them, the experience went downhill a bit. Do a try out and ask careful questions.

Dance: British Ballet Organization in Lonsdale Road, SW13. Michelle Taylorson is the teacher, and she is lovely - they do shows at the end of the year.

Drama/music/dance: ReWards Theatre School, has two venues in SW London (SW13 and another - can't remember, but check out their website). My youngest dd does this every saturday morning, and they do shows two terms out of three - the third consists of professional West End actors coming in to teach workshops on different shows. Age 6-16.

Stagecoach Twickenham has since been taken over July 2014. New blood, new fun, new energy. Students are performing at The Shaftesbury Theatre In the West End, at events at The Albert Hall, Scarefest at Alton Towers, with shows such as Cats, Pantomimes, Hairspray, Commedia, mask work puppetry, circus workshops and more... its great!

My DD attends a great new school in richmond called the MV Academy. All the kids seem to love it! They work towards shows most terms and performances on the west end/local theatres.
