Can anyone recommend a Kent test tutor for dyslexic child? Canterbury

DS top in class, but folds in exam conditions. Looking for a tutor to help him overcome this and to prepare for Kent test. IQ over 130 and his teacher is confident that he is SLBS material (he is obsessed with astronomy, so that helps, too). His level of dyslexia means he already qualifies for extra exam time, not sure yet if he will be able to use laptop in the test (he touch types). Any recommendations?

BTW i Am not a new poster (pombears, klaxons, etc), but don't want to be identified in RL.

I suggest that you contact PATOSS for a list of tutors in your area. This is the professional body of tutors who are specifically trained to teach dyslexic pupils. Their number is: 01386 712716

They won't give you details by phone. You need to register with their website, then you can access a list ( free) of tutors in all areas. You can contact the BDA by phone and they will give you details of local support groups who usually have lists of BDA approved teachers.

They will be able to email or send you hard copies of the SpLD tutors in your area.

Just want to say how well my very dyslexic son has done at grammar school (not far from you). I have dyslexia action qualification and have done 11 plus tuition so I know it can be done, but be warned because not everyone out there knows what they are doing. There's definitely a technique for Kent Test for dyslexics in VR in particular.

Thanks for this and sorry for late response - real life took over for a while. I will follow up with PATOSS. And are you looking for work, goingmad?....
