websites for help with homework?

DS forever having to find basic info for history/maths topics and we don't have much time during the week - where do you go for help on the internet? Most grateful if you can spare time to respond. I keep trying and getting nowhere plus we don't have much time to visit library etc.

Maths is live on Tuesday nights which means he can post questions to teachers. Not sure which night history is. There's also a chat room every night (moderated) where he can talk about school things- and there's a teacher in there every night as well.

DS is 7 will be 8 in a couple of months.

Many thanks for the responses so far I'll give them a try - just couldn't figure out how to find any at all my searches seemed to end up with loads of high flying websites far too advanced for me never mind DS!

Alibubbles I meant to add... he's in year 3 and if you manage to find your list I'd be most grateful

plus it's a real mixture of topics flight history of that is, science varies quite a bit and it's just basic stuff he needs but with work and other children I can't ever seem to get much time to help and DH always means to but he gets books out that are far too advanced for poor DS to take in!

click123- the homework high chat room may be a bit too old for your son, but the teachers would be happy to help with any questions. The timetable is on the home page- although the site has been having technical difficulties this week.

spacemonkey what time did you try- chat is only open between 6.30 and 8.30 pm Come in on a Tuesday and chat to me (I'm called "Biology Teacher" My hobby job as dh calls it.

hullo jimjams

can't remember what time it was, but the subject headings on the homepage were flashing "LIVE" so i guess the chatroom was open

when i clicked thru to chat, i just got a blank grey screen though

i looked at the help, but it was useless (i've got ie6 here but the instructions appear to relate to an earlier version)

it's such a brilliant idea to have live homework chat, i'd really like to get it working and introduce my year 8 DD to it

will keep trying and will look out for you on a Tuesday evening!!!

spacemonkey- they have been having major technical problems this week- may be worth trying again next week. We had to shut chat early on Tuesday as people couldn't get in.
