How do I find a tutor locally?

Hi,

I am looking to find a maths tutor for my DD year 3 (KS2).

She really lacks in confidence, I am thinking a 1 - 1 session once a week could boost her.

How do I find a tutor locally - word of mouth would be best wouldn't it? However, I don't know anyone else locally that has used one.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Polly, there isn't anyone listed locally to me.

that's a shame, there's pages of them in Brum...

Try ringing round all the local secondary schools and asking if there are any maths teachers who want to do some extra tutoring. Some do (I do, but only a couple of pupils as I don't have time for more), some don't, but the school would possibly know of a few people who want some tutoring work.

Or Google maths tutors and your area. I just googled my area and found loads of them.

Thanks schooldidi, I have googled and haven't found any locally.

Will ring the secondary school on Monday.

Thanks again.
