May I have your advice on St Francis' College? We are from overseas and need to know whether it's a good school, their dorm facilities, etc.

Many many thanks WouldBeHarrietVane. I would also like to know whether Bishop Stortford is difficult to get in. Any other recommendation for a girl from Asia? My daughter is not outgoing and doesn't like sports at all. I am planning to send her to UK in 2014 for 6th Form. Many thanks again.

Queenswood has a lot of overseas girls. Its not wildly academic (some of their girls come to the independent day school I work at at Sixth form) but I know one or two staff and its a nice school, lovely environment.

Queenswood is very sporty! Music and drama are good too so if your DD is musical this could be good. If joining a 6th form, she needs to make friends easily. Sometimes girls from other cultures end up not integrating well as they always speak their own language to each other and do not want to do anything other than work. This is admirable in some respects but can lead to a them and us situation.

I would look at Princess Helena College, also in Hertfordshire. The pastoral care is excellent and they are very good at getting shy girls to blossom into capable young women.

Though PHC isn't overly academic.
