Hi everyone,
I'm new to this site however heard so many things and hope you can help.
Within my local area we are really fortunate to have 3-4 outstanding primary schools.
Our catchment school is 'outstanding' ofsted but just won't suit our boy.
We have therefore made our 3 choices understanding the admissions system fairly well and applied for the next closest school, the larger school further away and then our catchment.
Problem is, we found our perfect home for the boys about 10mins from where we live and this changes things in relation to schools.
Our on time application remains however your opinions on what we should do now are appreciated.
By luck our dream home is in the catchment for a school we love, we hadn't applied as we were about 0.5 miles too far away to have made it a realistic choice.

  1. Do we leave our online application alone Knowing we will be considered for 3 popular outstanding schools
Or
  1. Submit a late application hoping to get the new school ?

We should have exchanged / completed by 15th April and hope that we can immediately go on the waiting list for the school

Our boy is currently in an independent school nursery and it will break the bank on top of moving but shall we move him into reception there where he is settled whilst waiting for a place in our new local school ?

Many questions unanswered and hope we can learn from your experiences -
Thank you

If you change your application now it will be treated as a late application for all schools, not just for the new school. You will therefore dramatically reduce your chances of getting a place at any of these schools as your application won't be considered until all the on time applicants have places.

You should wait until you receive an offer next month, accept it then ask to go on the waiting list for the new school.
