We are planning to move to Harpenden and are looking for an independent school for our son, 6 and daughter (she is only 2). I am tending towards a co-ed, I would like them to be together for a few years, too early to decide if single sex is the way to go and the other single sex schools around don't really seem to look that great (personal opinion, based on isi and speaking to others).
Can someone offer advice on the above 2 schools, good and bad. The distance to both will be fairly similar from where we are looking to live. We like the look of the st albans senior schools (girls and boys) so does anyone know if either of the 2 schools would be preferential to getting them into the senior schools. I know alot can and will change by the time they are ready for senior school but I am just trying to future proof the choice as much as possible.
I have heard a few things about Beechwood being 'ignorant' of bullying and in their recent isi some of the kids had mentioned to the inspectors they felt not all the children were treated equally and fairly, does anyone have any insight into these matters. I would like the school to be diverse, I appreciate being where we are that the majority of children will be white, but are either a little more diverse than the other.
Thank you for any help you can give.
