Camden LEA has just informed us that out DS has not got a place at any of our primary school choices! Husband and I are gobsmacked. The letter says we can appeal but I am not sure if that is a worthwhile process. What are my chances of getting in on the waiting lists. Any advice would be gratefully received.

How crazy jojo! Sorry to hear this. I don't have experience of this but sure someone will have. But I do know it is worth being on waiting lists as it is perfectly possible that a child or two may not take up the place...

Were your choices all out of catchment? Obviously if you are on a waiting list, if you are out of catchment the school allocate places that come up according to their policies which USUALLY mean that you're lower on the list if you're out of catchment. But you prob. know this already.

Hope you get this sorted, it must be so stressful...

can't help just curious to find out how to post on a thread without a title!

SoupDragon · 06/05/2006 18:35

Well worth going on a waiting list. Lots of children do drop out for one reason or another. Some will accepot a pace and then move, go private, be offered a place at a differnet school...

SoupDragon · 06/05/2006 18:35

And appeal - what have you got to lose?

beetroot · 06/05/2006 18:37

and start this topic again with a title as it is difficult to post on it without one...unless you are clever bunnies like us Grin

RTKangaMummy · 06/05/2006 18:39

Deffo go for the appeal

or stay on continuing interest list

Where are you in the queue?

fastasleep · 06/05/2006 18:40

Aww I thought the fun was starting again...

good luck jojo

Hey I have worked out the secret of posting on a thread with no title! Grin

FrannyandZooey · 06/05/2006 18:44

Yes sorry jojo, the temptation to see what was going on here was too much for me as well :)
