Ok final decision - should I move DD to a new school?

DD has had various problems at school (bullying for nearly a year - school only beleiving her when another child tried to protect her..formal compliant to govenors...meeting with LEA, withdrawn complaint on promise of action)

I was told she could not get into the school of her choice without an appeal

They rang tonite - she can have a place

So now I have to decide if it is the right thing to move her..what does anyone think?

Also do you think I could ask to go into the new school for a proper look arround?

Oh good for you Katymac, you really are doing the right thing.

Does the new school have a bus service to pick up kids from surrounding areas? Our school does, but we are quite rural. Might be worth looking into to say DH panicking!

Just to reassure you Katymac, my dd moved to a new (all girls) school in the last term of Yr. 3, and she settled in well. I think a new face is quite interesting at that age, so she quickly made lots of new friends - and she didn't know anyone when she moved there.

So have you actually formally accepted the place?

Sounds like a really good move, Katymac. And at least she has a positive and known next step to look forward to, instead of an uncertain, undecided time.

V pleased for you all. Tell DH to stop panicking - will the travel really be a sustantial problem?? Can you team up with other parents?
